The Annual Day for LKG, UKG, Classes I & II were grandly celebrated on November 23, 2013, at Dakshinamurthy Auditorium, Mylapore. The Chief Guest for the day was Dr. Prema Kasturi, Secretary of Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Sec. School. With her to join were the other dignitaries, Dr. Nanditha Krishna and other Management Staff.
Following the invocation, prizes were distributed to the winners of different competitions held through the academic year.
The cultural show done was well received by the audience. The skit by the UKG with the theme “Save Mother Earth by growing more trees” synchronised with The Grove School motto.
The other programs by the Children were action – Dance songs, to the tunes of Zoo song, Mulberry bush rhyme and Wheels of the Bus was very lively and engrossing the brightly dressed animals from LKG did a skit based on Eric Carle’s “Brown Bear” book.
Next the programs of Class I and II were more based on tradition and culture of India. Kummi was very well displayed by Class I and II girls in their colourful Pavadais. The highlight of the day was the brightly dressed boys of Class I and II, who did rhythmic tribal dance with acrobatic stunts. This programme won the hearts of the audience. The final programme for the day was a skit “The Red Riding Hood” by the children which was neatly dramatised. The celebration was a grand success and was well appreciated by one and all present.
