Thursday, August 28, 2014: The Grove School celebrated Ganesh Chathurthi

The Grove School celebrated Ganesha Chaturti Festival on August 28, 2014. The function started with a prayer followed by pooja done by Mrs. Nagalakshmi. The program began with the students of UKG singing two songs about Ganesha.

Girls of class VI spoke about Lord Ganesha, the forms of Ganesha, what is Ganesha Chaturti all about and how we celebrate Ganesha Chaturti, also called as Vinayagar Chaturti in Tamil Nadu.

The introduction was followed by the students of classes I to V who sang shlokas, bhajans and songs about Lord Ganesha.

A skit named “Moshak” was enacted by the students of classes II to VI. It was about how Ganesha got a mouse as his vahana and why we are doing sit ups when we go to Ganesha temple.

The celebration ended with a colourful dance performed by students of classes IV and V.

At last prasadam was distributed to the students and the pooja ended by praying to the almighty for our future endeavours.
