As a part of the ‘Madras Day’ celebrations, an intra-school quiz competition was held at the convention Hall of the C.P.R Foundation on September 1, 2014. A Preliminary test based on Madras was conducted and the participants of the four houses, namely Neem, Gulmohar, Tulsi and Peepal were short listed for the final Quiz.
Mr. Prashanth Krishna (Correspondent of The Grove School) presided over the function. Dr. G.J Sudhakar (Former Head of the department for History, Loyola & Professor for Historical Studies, CPRIIR) was the Quiz Master. The Score board was updated by Mrs.S.Shanmugavali (Mathematics teacher of The Grove School) and Mr. Sunderarajan (P.T master of The Grove School) was the time keeper. The programme was attended by the students of Classes I to X along with the principal, Mrs. Kala Doraiswamy, Vice Principal Mrs. S.M. Sujatha, the staff and Mr.G. Balaji – Research officer, CPRIIR
The participants took part in the quiz with great Zeal and enthusiasm with overwhelming support and cheer from the audience. There was a healthy competition amongst the participants. Five oral rounds were followed by three video rounds. Neem House was declared the winners.
The Vote of thanks was proposed by Mrs.Punitha (History teacher, The Grove School)
