ASISC Tamil Nadu Region Athletic Meet- August 26 & 27, 2017
The ASISC TN Region Athletic meet was held at Saveetha University, Thandalam, on 26th and 27th August 2017. The arrangements began the previous day, 25th August. The coaches and the P.Ed’s meeting was held at 4 pm.
26th August, 2017 the meet started as per schedule. The Chief guest, Dr. P.Nagarajan, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s Awardee for ‘ Best Coach,2004 and the guest of honour Mr. Gerry Arathoon, Chief Executive and Secretary council for the Indian School Certificate Examinations, New Delhi made their gracious presence at the event. The cultural event the Kummi Dance by children of The Grove School added flavour to the occasion. Forty four schools were expected but three schools were unavailable for the meet. The athletic events began on time with the march past followed by the lighting of the lamp
Cheer and applause was heard all around and the participants gave in their best. The Athletic Meet was held in all fairness and there was an exquisite display of talent from different regions of Tamil Nadu. The Valedictory function was graced by Mr. Ravindra, President Madras Boat Club and national gold medallist, rowing. He gave away the prizes to all the winners. The over championship for both ICSE and ISC went to St. Jude’s Public school. The meet came to an end with the lowering of the flag.
